Upon arrival in Ouarzazate, you will discover the cinematic capital of Morocco. We will then traverse the Anti Atlas before descending into the Draa Valley with its ksars, magnificent fortified villages, and the town of Zagora. Our path will lead us to the vast desert of Nesrat, where we will rendezvous with our team of camel handlers. The night will be spent in tents. This first day involves a 7-hour drive.
Day 2: Nesrat − Bou Gaiwarne Dunes − Tidri Dunes
This day marks our first hiking experience. We will descend the Draa Valley, passing through charming Berber villages like Ignaoun and Moulay Ali Achrif. You will have the opportunity to meet the locals. Then, we will head towards the village of Zaouiat Sidi Salah (the regional capital). Lunch will be prepared by our chef amidst an oasis. About 1.5 hours of walking will take us to our campsite at the foot of the towering Tidri dune. The night will be spent in tents. This day’s hike will last approximately 5 hours.
Day 3: Tidri – Erg Sahel
An intriguing stage awaits, where you can ascend and descend the golden dunes of Tidri. We will cross a dry and rocky plateau (known as a Reg) with its stony desert. Here, there’s little sand, only the desert’s silence amidst the pristine dunes of Erg Sahel. In the afternoon, a stroll in the dunes will allow you to savor the stunning sunset as the day winds down. In the evening, a fire will be prepared, and bread will be baked in the sand. The night will be spent in tents. This day’s hike will last approximately 5 hours.
