6-Days Toubkal Circuit Trek : we’ll start from Imlil to hike around the Toubkal before ascending towards its summit at 4165 meters above sea level.The Toubkal offers us all the magnificence of the high mountains with its beautiful valleys, agricultural activities and the colorful life of the Berber people. A meeting with nature and genuineness.
Itinerary of Toubkal Circuit Trek
Day 1: Marrakech – Imlil (1740m) – Tizi N’Tamatert (2279m) – Ouansekra (2291m)
Around 8 a.m., we’ll be directly transferred to Imlil (1700m), at the foothills of the Toubkal massif and the starting point of our trekking trip in Toubkal’s High Atlas. We’ll begin our journey with a climb that leads to the Col of Tizi n’Tamatert (2279m). On our way, beautiful landscapes adorned with typical Berber villages will dazzle us. We’ll then continue our walk to reach the village of Ouansekra at 2291 meters above sea level. 1h30 drive, 5-hours walk.
Day 2: Ouansekra (2291m) – Tizi N’Likemt (3550m) – Azib N’Likmet (2250m)
After breakfast, we’ll set off on a 3-hour and a half climb towards the col of Tizi n’Likemt (3550m), where we’ll take a break to admire the view of the Tachdirt valley and the surrounding mountains. After a short descent, we’ll stop for lunch, then continue for an hour before reaching our bivouac near Azib n’Likemt, where we’ll meet nomad shepherds with their flocks (goats, sheep). 6-hours walk.
Day 3: Azib N’Likmet (2250m) – Amsouzarte (1740m)
A day’s walk through the high mountains’ pastures will take us to reach Tizi N’Ourai (3109m). We’ll then descend towards the valley of Tinzar, where we’ll stop for lunch while enjoying the Berber architecture of the villages in this valley. After that, we’ll cross the High Atlas’ ridge to reach its southern slope. Night in the tents. 5h30 walk.
Day 4: Amsouzarte (1740m) – Imhilene – Ifni Lake (2295m)
We’ll descend towards the n’Islani Valley and pass through the villages of Ibrouane and Tisgouane Takatert to reach the Ifni Lake (2295m), nestled at the bottom of a valley surrounded by the peaks of Jebel Toubkal. We’ll then spend an unforgettable night by the lake. 5-hours walk.
Day 5: Ifni Lake (2295m) – Ouanoums Tizi N’oumoums (3670m) – Neltner Refuge (3207m)
We’ll embark on a slow and pleasant climb to reach the col of Ouanoums (3670m). From the col, we’ll enjoy the view of the other 4000m high peaks before descending to the shelter, a meeting point for hikers. Night in tents near the refuge. 5h30 walk.
Day 6: Neltner Refuge (3207m) – Toubkal Summit (4167m) – Imlil (1740m) – Marrakech
Early in the morning, we’ll set off for the summit of Toubkal (4167m), the roof of North Africa. We’ll enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the surrounding mountains and valleys. After reaching the summit, we’ll return to the refuge for lunch, then descend towards the village of Chamharouch and finally head to Imlil, where we’ll find the car that will drive us back to Marrakech. A total of 8 hours, including 1h30 of driving.
