Climbing mount toubkal : Toubkal ascent and Berber villages 5 days

This program offers a rewarding climb of Mount Toubkal in the Toubkal Massif, allowing you to immerse yourself in the Berber culture and witness the breathtaking beauty of the Toubkal Mountains, including the ascent of Jbel Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa.
Itinerary for climbing Mount Toubkal:
Day 1: Marrakech − Asni − Aguerssioual (1650 m) − Toubkal Trek Start − Col of Oudid (2220m) − Tizi Oussem (1950m)
Our journey begins at 8 a.m. as we take a less traveled road leading to the village of Aguessioual, where we’ll meet our team of muleteers. After loading our luggage, we’ll embark on a 2-hour hike to the Col of Tizi Oudid at 2220 meters above sea level, followed by a descent to the Azzaden valley. The total walking time for the day is approximately 5 hours. We’ll spend the night in a local gite in the village of Tizi Oussem, with a climb of 550 meters and a descent of 270 meters.
Day 2: Tizi Oussem (1950m) − Col of M’zik (2450m) − Aremd (2000m)
Leaving the village behind, we’ll ascend the Toubkal Mountains on a beautiful trail that grants us several views of the Azzaden valley. After 2 hours of walking, we will reach the Col of Mzik at 2450m above sea level. We’ll then commence our descent towards the scenic valley of Imlil, renowned for its lush green landscapes surrounded by terraced orchards. The day’s hike involves a climb of 500 meters and a descent of 450 meters. We’ll spend the night in a local gite in the village of Aremd.
Day 3: Aremd (2000m) − Toubkal Refuge (3207m)
Today, we embark on a beautiful climb from the village of Aremd, passing by the Marabout of Sidi Chamharouche, until we reach the Toubkal Refuge at 3207 meters, the highest area in the high mountains. The total walking time for the day is approximately 5 hours, with an ascent of 1207 meters. We’ll spend the night at the refuge.
Day 4: Toubkal Refuge (3207m) − Ascent of Toubkal (4167m) − Back to the Refuge
Our ascent of Toubkal commences at five in the morning, ensuring a safe climb to the summit at 4167 meters of altitude. From the top, we’ll be rewarded with a panoramic 360° view of the surrounding mountains, the peaks of Dejbel Siroua, and the valleys around Jbel Toubkal. Afterward, we’ll descend back to the refuge. The day involves a climb of 960 meters and a descent of 960 meters. We’ll spend the night at the refuge.
Day 5: Refuge of Toubkal (3207m) − Descent to Imlil (1750m) − Transfer to Marrakech
After breakfast around 8:30, we’ll gently descend using the same mule track until we reach the revered Marabout of Sidi Chemharouch at 2250m, accessible only to Muslims. Lunch will be served at the cottage in Imlil at 1750m. Finally, we’ll return to Marrakech by minibus or taxi, with 4 hours of walking and a 1-hour and 30-minute drive, descending a total of 1450 meters.
