Rose Valley Trekking Morocco : a hike that does not present great physical difficulty. It’s an opportunity to walk with friends or with your children, all while discovering the wealth and cultural traditions of the Berbers of the southern Central High Atlas. Green valleys (the valley of Dades and roses) in an arid and dry environment, Berber villages along the river, beautiful Kasbahs with great architecture, terraced gardens, oleander forests, fields of roses, walnuts, fig trees and gorges.

The programme of Rose Valley Trekking Morocco
Day 1 : Marrakech – Tizi N’Tichka Pass – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley (326 km)
We depart around 8 am and head towards the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260 m), the highest road pass in Morocco, offering magnificent scenic landscapes. Beyond the pass, the landscapes transition to a semi-desert, characteristic of the southern slope of Morocco. We will have lunch in Ouarzazate before continuing to Kelaa M’Gouna and arriving at the Dades Valley, renowned for its beautiful Kasbahs. We will spend the night in tents. The journey will take approximately 7 hours.
Day 2 : Dades Valley – Rose Valley (Agurzegua)
Our hike begins in the Dades Valley, passing through several terraced crops before leaving this beautiful valley for an arid landscape for about 3 hours. Finally, we will reach the stunning green valley of M’Goun. Lunch will be enjoyed at the rim of the valley in the village of Ighrm Aqdim, after which we will walk for another 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach the village of Aguerzaka. Don’t forget to bring sandals as we will cross rivers several times during our journey. Duration: 5 hours and 30 minutes of walking, Elevation: 500m of ascent and 400m of descent. We will spend in our traditional gite.
Day 3 : Aguerzegua – M’goun gogres – Return to our gîte.
During this adventurous day, we will begin the ascent of the M’goun Valley (walking through water), offering breathtaking panoramas of the surrounding landscapes. Then, we will have the opportunity to visit the famous M’goun Gorges, a geological wonder sculpted by time. To regain our strength, we will savor a delicious lunch in the shade of a peaceful spot. After this escapade, we will return to the same hause to enjoy the afternoon in this serene atmosphere. A fulfilling day that will be etched in our memories. Night in traditional gite.
Day 4 : Agurzegua – Almdoune Valley
We will leave this green valley with its beautiful Kasbahs and gorges to climb 300 meters and reach the col that leads us through a juniper forest to the valley of Ameskar. Another stunning valley named Almdoune awaits, with around 100 houses in the form of adobe Kasbahs. Lunch will be enjoyed in the valley of Temtda, after which we will continue to the village of Alemdoune (1700m) via a good and wide path. Duration: 5 hours of walking. Altitude difference: 400m ascent and 300m descent. Night in tents.
Day 5 : Almdoune / El Quati Valley – The Oleander Gorges – Boutghrar
We will slowly descend a valley of oleanders (remember to wear sandals for crossing the gorges). These small but very exotic gorges are lined with oleanders before reaching the valley of Elhout with its beautiful Kasbahs. It is a large village with several beautiful houses, where we will have lunch along the river near the village of Aznag. We will continue our walk for 1 hour before arriving at the village of Boutarhrar. Duration: 5 hours of walking. Altitude difference: 500m descent. Night in a traditional gite.
Day 6 : Boutaghrar – Ouarzazate – Ben Haddou Kasbah – Marrakech
We will be transferred by car to Ouarzazate, where we will visit the Kasbah of Ben Haddou, famous for being featured in many films. This 11th-century Kasbah has been classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Afterward, we will take a moment to contemplate the sumptuous landscapes of the Atlas Mountains before arriving in Marrakech. Night in a hotel with breakfast. Duration of the drive: 6 hours and 30 minutes.
